This is the perfect date place. My fiance and I use to go here when we were dating. We always had the best time. The food was excellent and the service was the absolute best. The cook even came out and talked to us. We always had a perfect time. |

Several years ago, I traveled to Ft. Walton Beach regularly, and this was easily the best italian place in the area. The risotto was perfect, and the Penne ala Basciola outstanding.
You can imagine that I was quite excited to get the chance to stop in again on a recent trip. Alas, it seemed that things had changed a bit, and not necessarily for the better. Ordering the risotto of the day, I'll have to say that I was disappointed. Although it was supposed to be mushroom and saffron, the main flavor was salt. What a letdown.
Now I'm not too sure, but it also appeared that the risotto was not made from arborio rice as it should. It really seemed as though they had used converted rice instead.
For right now I'll assume that they just had an off night and next time I'm in Ft Walton Beach I'll stop in again. I'll probably even try the risotto again. |
