I have dined at at Egg Harbor cafe for many years and the food quality, service and atmosphere are outstanding. I do remember on one occaision that we recieved an entree that was not piping hot. The server said how very sorry he was, had the food remade in great time, and the manager came over, introduced herself had gave us a voucher for a free entree on our next visit. We appreciate hot food as well but even appreciate food that had not hardened under a heat lamp for 3 minutes. |

We asked if they used free range chickens, and they said no. Being new to the animal rights/no-caged-chicken-egg movement, we were ignorant about what Egg Beaters actually was. We inquired and our server -- after supposed multiple trips to the kitchen to talk to the cook/look at labels/etc. -- insisted that there were no eggs at all in Egg Beaters, and that it was 100 percent artificial ingredients. So imagine my surprise when I found out that Egg Beaters is 100 percent genuine eggs.
I called the manager and she was pretty insensitive about this ... basically said she'd talk to the staff, but blew me off. Anyone know where I can get the owner's name and address??? |

I and my wife have patronized Egg Harbor Cafe locations in Wheaton Town Square, Wheaton, IL, and in Riverwalk Plaza, Naperville, IL for about two years. After frequent experiences with lukewarm breakfasts being served to us, and many complaints to servers and managers, without any change, we have given up on this restaurant chain. Without knowing what their kitchen process is, it appears that they have extreme difficulty with any type of "combo" breakfast in getting all the ingredients on the plate at the same time, and getting them there HOT!
This is a shame, because we enjoyed the menu selection, and the serving staff are apparently well trained and very pleasant. But, if a meal cannot be served to the table at a hot, or at least warm temperature, no amount of menu variety or pleasant wait staff compensates.
Incidentally, I attempted to furnish these comments dirtectly to the company at their web site at www.eggharborcafe.com, but found there is no facility to providfe comments. Guess they don't want to hear from the public. |
