The restaurant is themed after the Andy Griffith (Mayberry RFD) show on TV, it is filled with memorabilia of this old time TV series and homestyle food. Service may be a bit disjointed at times as large groups from tour buses travel specifically to this restaurant as a part of their tour of the area. Mayberry.com states Christine and Brad Born run this diner and that Goober Hat Night is every Tuesday. Wear a hat and get a free dessert with a dinner purchase. Welcome to the mecca of die hard Andy Griffith fans. from the minute you drive up to the doors in this small corner diner you are instantly taken back to Mayberry, North Carolina as you see a vintage Ford Galaxie 500 squad car parked out front. Step inside, and you feel right at home with a friendly server greets you and takes you to your table. When you look at the menu you will see many familiar dishes, most of which fall under the category of comfort food. |
