Bay Ridge is commercialized, it's true, especially the 86th Street area; however, there aren't a whole lot of coffee shops reminiscent of what you might find in the Village in Manhattan. This little coffee joint, though, is the answer for those of us who live nearby. There are a couple of cozy couches and plenty of nooks and crannies to sit in--outdoor seating available too on nice nights.
Coffee is good, and there's a lot of it--avoid the French pressed stuff, though, as their presses are older and tend to let a lot of grainy coffee grinds into your drink. Baked goods are nice, and any espresso drink is made with care. There's a lot to choose from, including tons of fresh brewed coffees ground in-store.
Nice atmosphere, though it can get crowded and could take a while for you to be helped. Otherwise it's a nice place to have a cup of joe and just sit back and read a book--without having to bother with Starbucks, or trekking out to Manhattan. |
