Knowing her staff would be at half mast due
to a death in the family, Annie was able to rise to the occasion. My dad and aunt visit the Cafe every Wednesday for lunch. I just happened to join them ,today. Annie met us at the door to inform us that a close relative died suddenly. Without a
moment, she seated us and began to serve us , herself. The place was adorable. The food
was superb and Annie's attention was
priceless. I can't wait to goback.
God Bless you, Annie and Family!!! |

Annie's has one really big thing going for it... THE best Guinness in PA, except for Plough and the Stars in the city. They have a separate nitrogen tank for the tap, and they are the best at pouring. I'd say it takes an average of 6-7 minutes to get the beer, but that is only because it is poured correctly. The food is excellent as well, but it is overpriced. They have a pretty good happy hour every day of the week from 5-7 with half off appetizers and $2 pints of Yuengling, but no specials on the $5.50 Guinness. It is really never crowded, even on Friday and Saturday nights. The bar area is pretty small, but the bar itself is a nice size, and there are 5 TV's. The restaurant side is small as well. I would definitely reccommend Annie's if you want an amazing pint, and you don't want a crazy atmosphere. |

Two friends and I were dining at Annie's when I found a bug in my drink. When I brought this to the attention of the waitress, she advised me that it was probaly just a fruit fly and she would bring me another drink. After much persistence, the manager came over and advised me that the bugs was JUST a fruit fly and they are in the restaurant because they serve draft beer at the bar. My friends and I left after the manager's unnecesary display of rudeness!! |
