My co-workers and I just returned from a lunch at Cafe Alessio. Although we enjoyed the restaurant's beautiful outdoor dining patio, the pleasant atmosphere was negated by issues with the food and service.
I ordered the "House Special" pasta dish ($10.95) with a pink vodka sauce, shrimp and crabmeat. Although I clearly specified linguine, it was prepared with penne. When I pointed this out to the server, he did not offer to fix the problem or remove the charge from our tab. We didn't exactly have the time to wait for a "redo," anyway. To make matters worse, my pasta dish was cold - and the portion was surprisingly small, given the price!
I suggest that you proceed to Cafe Alessio with caution. Be prepared to overspend on underwhelming dishes. Expect mediocre service. But, if the weather's nice, you're sure to enjoy the patio! |
