Finally! I have found a Mexican Food Cafe in Texas that tastes like Mexican food should taste. (like New Mexico Mexican food.) Tex Mex is ok, but this is way better. The only improvement would be for Lola to use chile from the Hatch and Mesilla valleys in southern NM.
I go early, right after she opens in the morning to avoid the crowds.
I live 2 hours from Lola's and stop there every time I go to Abilene.

It was all around goodtimes!! The guys in my group (3 of us) were instructed to "go to the kitchen"! At that point we began to serve the ladies (4 of them) that were with us! Brenda in the kitchen was a riot!! Pure joy to work/joke with. We actually "had" to help prepare the food! After throwing extra flour on ourselves to look pittfully over-worked, we sat down and enjoyed a wonderfully orchestrated meal! All around....goodtimes had by all! |
